The temperature is getting warmer here in NYC, so stop by Birch Coffee for a house-made cold-brewed iced coffee. Birch’s coffee beans are roasted locally in Long Island City so your coffee is guaranteed to be high quality! In addition to coffee, Birch offers healthful breakfast and lunch options to eat in or take-out, as well as cold pressed juices from local juice press, Liquiteria. With four locations and a new Murray Hill location coming this spring, a Birch Coffee is always sure to be close by. Try their hemp or organic soymilk for a vegan option.

One of the most fun things about living in NYC is the growing trend of pop-up food fairs and markets. Mad Square Eats at Madison Square Park boasts some of the best food from top chefs and popular restaurants in the city, all in one place! The small portion sizes and variety of options make it easy to sample everything and indulge a little bit without going overboard. Past favorites have included local oysters from Brooklyn Oyster Party, New England style lobster rolls from Red Hook Lobster Co., and tacos from Calexico. It wouldn’t be summer in New York without ice cream, and luckily for us, the Melt Shop will be there offering gluten and dairy-free ice cream sandwiches in addition to traditional fare. This year, Mad Square Eats will kick off the summer from May 1st-28th so be sure to enjoy it while it lasts!

If you’re looking to fuel up for an afternoon of braving the midtown crowds, this is the place to be. Untamed has something for everyone, with gluten-free and dairy-free options, it's perfect for carnivores and vegans alike. Get the “Carla Bruni” braised veggie sandwich to-go and stroll to nearby Bryant Park to enjoy the best of midtown! And as if there weren’t enough reasons to love Untamed- a portion of their proceeds are donated to Minds Matter: a charity that supports local low-income high school students.

Dumplings are the last thing you think of when it comes to healthy food, but Mimi Cheng’s homemade dumplings are on a mission to change that. Founded by two sisters using their mom’s secret recipe, Mimi Cheng’s dumplings are made with organic, local, farm-fresh ingredients and made-to-order. Try their chicken or pork dumplings lightly fried in real olive oil, or go for their steamed vegetable dumplings for a yummy treat.
