Here's what was in it (photo of the ingredients above:)
1 1/2 bananas (organic preferred)
1 organic apple, cut and de-cored
1/4 cup 365 steel cut oats
1/2 cup almond milk (I typically stick with this brand and flavor, to avoid added sugar)
3/4 cup crushed ice (the chill makes it resemble even more of a frozen treat)
2 tbsp. PB2 powder (picked this up at Uncle Giuseppe's, one of my favorite Italian restaurants, since they carried it for a great price!)
1 tbsp. Trader Joe's Organic Flax Oil (feel free to use a different brand if you prefer; I just like TJ's relatively low prices)
1 tsp. of 365 Organic Vietnamese Cinnamon (which is awesome for your immunity, and god knows I need that!)
I used my Nutribullet, so after I poured in the ingredients, I simply filled up the liquid to the "max" water line. If you happen to use a regular blender for this recipe, I'd just suggest adding a bit more crushed ice and ~ 1 1/2 cups of water (filtered and PH balanced, preferred. More to come on this)
Given the bananas, I think the smoothie was delicious, creamy and more than sweet enough - but should you want some added sweetness, simply throw in 1 tsp. of stevia (more on this) or local, raw honey. Local is key, especially for those of you that suffer from uncomfortable seasonal allergies, as it can help you to develop an immunity to the allergens around you!
