For this, all you'll need is:
a spray bottle or large bowl
natural fruit & vegetable brush (I love this inexpensive, bamboo one)
apple cider vinegar or white vinegar (whichever you have in the house or would like to purchase)
ACV spray method: Combine 1 tablespoon of ACV with 1 tablespoon of filtered water in a spray bottle, and shake to mix. Apply a few spritzes onto each piece of produce and brush for about 30 seconds. Rinse thoroughly with water.
White vinegar spray method: Follow the same method for ACV, except mix 1 part distilled white vinegar with 3 parts filtered water.
ACV or White vinegar soaking methods: If you don't have a spray bottle or simply prefer a different method, you can also use a large bowl. Fill the bowl with mixture and let your produce soak for several minutes. Then, give it a good scrub and rinse under water. I find that this works better for large batches, while spritzing works better for one or several pieces of a produce at a time.
I love that you can use quality ingredients and follow these simple instructions to make these cleaners at home, without paying a lot of money for off-the-shelf organic or natural cleaners. Plus, both ACV and White Vinegar are great ingredients to have in the house; with ACV aiding in digestion when taken as a supplement, and White Vinegar being a great all-natural cleaning agent for around the house.
