I hear you. As much as I love running, just the thought of trudging out into the cold hurts. Which is why I love the active winter pieces I've featured below, that are cute enough to inspire me to hit the road, but also practical enough to keep me warm while I do.
Here are some other tips to stay on track, despite the winter blues:
1. Visualize the aftermath. The process itself might be painful but think about how great you'll feel this evening when you relax or how much energy you'll have throughout the day! I approach my work like this, too. I know that I'll feel great when a difficult task is accomplished, even if I'm not thrilled while doing it.
2. Think about the benefits. From glowing skin, to tighter a tummy, to a faster metabolism, to increased energy, to physically fighting the winter blues (thanks to our favorite friends, endorphins) the benefits of sticking with your winter workout routine are endless.
3. Grab a workout buddy. Working out with a friend is one of the most motivating (not to mention fun!) ways to keep up with your routine. This is especially true of running. Go the distance with your bestie.
